January 2025 Meeting and Workshop

Master Photographer Kim Critchfield’s 2025 MVCC Meeting & Workshop is being held at the CSI Herrett Center. January’s meeting is Friday, January 10, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Then on Saturday, January 11, 9 am – 12 noon, Kim will lead his

“Close-up, Still life, Down To Earth, Good Advice Workshop …”

As usual the meeting is free of charge, come to the Herrett Center Friday, 6:30pm – 8:30pm to learn about the club, plans for the year followed by Kim’s prep for Saturday.
Then come back on Saturday 9am – 12 noon for the hands on workshop.
Please note if you worked in the Photography Building during the 2024 Twin Falls County Fair then there is no charge for the Saturday workshop. If you were not able to be part of the fair , or just learned about MVCC the 3 hour workshop lead by Master Photographer Kim Critchfield is only $40.
Kim will be talking about the equipment he loves, lighting, composition, the Zen of simplicity, making vs taking images, enhancing images, and so much more…
On Saturday, Kim will bring some the cool stuff he has collected for you to photograph, along with his lights, backgrounds, and ideas for you to try.
It’s going to be really fun…. Kim has looked forward to this for a long time!

It is that time of year again! 

Please join your friends for a wonderful meal, lots of laughs and a darn good time with other photography crazed folks. Join us December 10th for our annual Christmas party! Please RSVP by Dec 7th for a head count (to Connie or Dan Taylor). 

If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, bring a white elephant gift (no theme). This is a great time to get to know other members. You are welcome to bring your significant other too.

Equipment Swap & Planning Meeting

Change of plans! We have moved the equipment swap up to November. Christmas is just around the corner! Do you have items you want to offload? Items you’re looking for? We do not allow for selling on our page so this is the one time of year that we get together for a swap.
 
We will also be discussing events/outings for next year. Is there a place you’ve been wanting to see or an outing you want to lead? Bring your ideas! 

Workshop artist Ted York

   Ted York is our featured workshop artist this October. This event is open to all photographers. Friday night is our monthly meeting so that part is FREE.

   Saturday, October 5, Ted York will lead a hands-on workshop. The special Magic Valley Camera Club price for the workshop is only $40 (*Note if you worked at least one shift at the 2024 Twin Falls County Fair you earned this workshop for FREE).

With the fair all wrapped up, let’s enjoy what is left of summer with some history that put the magic in the Magic Valley. Bring your camera (and tripod if inclined) and wander the grounds of this old ranch that was a foundational resource for our area. This old guy has been here so long, he might need a refill. (wink, wink)
